1. LOVE YOURSELF. Yes I know, I find that hard as well as we were all raised to not be selfish. But if you love yourself enough to accept yourself despite all your flaws (we all have them) then you will feel empowered. One woman’s flaw is another man’s gorgeous! The new Bridget Jones film ‘Mad about the boy” is testament to men preferring the more interesting but lumpy older woman – the new film is a bigger box office hit than Barbie!
2. WHAT DID YOU LOVE DOING AS A CHILD? Was it climbing trees, writing stories, painting or lolling around day dreaming? My favourite was bouncing around on a Space Hopper – and with this blog in mind, I purchased myself a new grown up Space Hopper – I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE OUTDOOR PASTIME? Is it walking in solitude along Cornwall’s stunning Southwest coast path? Could it be sea swimming? (cold water swimming is SO good for your wellbeing) How about walking in the woods? Change that to forrest bathing; walk slowly and be mindful, drinking in the smells, listening to the sounds of bird song, look closely at the bark, the leaves, the ground with all it’s fauna and the canopy of the trees above.
4. DO YOU LOOK AT OTHER COUPLES AND FAMILIES WITH LONGING? I used to, especially at special times such as Christmas, Easter and Valentines. Chances are, the women are looking at you with envy! You have freedom, you can eat biscuits in bed, watch what you want on TV, go out with who you want and only have your own washing to do, and can eat what you want when you want. They might even be bored with their husbands.
5. FEELING THE NEED TO GET AWAY AND NUTURE YOUR SOUL? Treat yourself to a holiday at The Studio, Cape Cornwall for some well deserved rest and relaxation. The Studio enjoys stunning sea views, and facing west affords you stunning sunsets. Lots of good books provided for you to lose yourself in; plenty of pubs and cafes in nearby St. Just so no need to cook, unless you enjoy cooking.
And Cape Cornwall Golf and Leisure Club is right behind The Studio for breakfast, lunch and dinner – or sundowners on the terrace overlooking The Studio and the sea. Should the rain set it, the club also offers an indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym.
Even if you live in Cornwall, the wild west of the Tin Coast is like stepping back in time, so it really does feel like you are on holiday.
